Kathryn Webers, Sept 5, 1959 - June 21, 2023. State Coordinator at Animal Advocacy, Horse welfare advocate, Cornell University Graduate, Kathyrn dedicated much of her time over the years raising awareness about the inhumane industry of horse slaughter, including while she worked as a groom/ handler in the Harness Racing circuit. Kathryn also served as Commissioner on the Board of Public Works in Marshfiled, Massachusetts. She enjoyed music, the arts and was an avid lover of nature. Kathryn is also credited on screen in SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES A NATION BETRAYED for
her volunteer role as part of the production crew while filming on location in Massachusetts.

Mario James, 1954 - 2023. Devoted husband and life partner to Saving America's Horses Filmmaker Katia Louise. Mario James was a passionate Ambassador to SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES, and the award winning Line Producer, Production Manager, Camera Operator, Lighting, Theater Technician and Special Events MC & Educational Spokesperson for SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES A NATION BETRAYED. Mario was also the Equine Rescue & Sanctuary Assistant Director & onsite Manager, and Caregiver for Wild For Life Foundation's (WFLF's) Lifetime Equine Refuge, longtime horseman & dedicated equine advocate. Mario James was the man behind the Mission of SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES at WFL Humanion Films. He was a devoted supporter of the Wild For Life Foundation and its mission to prevent animal cruelty, end horse slaughter, and save and protect horses & burros in need. His humanity shined in his devotion to his wife and family, and the labor of love work for his revered horse family. Mario was also a loving and devoted son-in-law, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and caring friend. He was there when fire threatened the sanctuary and risked his own safety, he was there when neighbors and friends needed help in their rural community, he was there to help care for his mother-in-law, and served as the rock on which everyone could always depend. Mario was a Treasured Spirit Peaceful Warrior Brother and Elder of the Horse Nation, with a HEART as BIG as a HERD! Mario's FIRE and PASSION to take care of one of CREATOR'S MOST MAJESTIC BEINGS with utmost LOVE, GENTLENESS AND CARING was boundless and selfless. He made sure they had a voice and a perpetual home and did everything in his power to ensure they were well cared for. Mario’s family is grieving through the shocking experience of his traumatic loss, and has set up a special memorial fund to honor his lifesaving work through the Wild For Life Foundation charity. HONORARY BOARD MEMBERS TO SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES A NATION BETRAYED

Sir Paul Sorvino, April 13, 1939 - July 25, 2022. Best known for his roles as an actor in GOODFELLAS, DICK TRACEY and LAW & ORDER, Sorvino starred in more than 100 films, enjoyed a full career in TV, and on the stage, winning the Tony Award nomination for his performance in the comedy THAT CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON. Sir Paul Sorvino was also a celebrated director, sculptor, opera singer, and well respected horse advocate. Sorvino was a powerful and compassionate voice against the slaughter of America's horses and burros. He was committed to helping to spread awareness about the evils of horse slaughter, and the BLM's insidious treatment of America's Mustangs. Sorvino's own horse, FedEx Man, is the grandson of the great Exceller, who tragically ended his historic racing career in a Swedish slaughterhouse. His deep connection with his horse, FedEx Man, who was rescued by his daughter Amanda Sorvino, inspired him to speak out against horse slaughter and in support of horse rescue. During Paul’s interview with the filmmaker of SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES A NATION BETRAYED, he shared his passion for his family roots which go back thousands of years to Naples and entitle him to be honored as a Knight.

Dr. Elliot Katz, 1935 - March 24, 2021. 1958 graduate of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, founder of In Defense of Animals, and world renowned animal welfare & animal rights defender. He dedicated his support for the horses to stopping the round ups, keeping the horses on their home range, ending the senseless killing of all equines, and to return captured wild horses to their native homes on range. Winner of many precedent-setting victories for the animals including Closing the infamous Coulston Foundation, once the largest chimpanzee research center in the world, saving hundreds of chimpanzees and monkeys from the horrors of vivisection; rescued of hundreds of dogs and cats after a devastating "firestorm" swept through the Oakland/Berkeley hills, destroying more than 3,500 homes; prevented the US Army from breaking the legs of 120 retired racing greyhounds; freed 180 beagles scheduled to be dissected by UC Davis veterinary students; saved the lives of hundreds of Catalina Island buffalo scheduled to be sent to auction and arranging and paying for their transfer to a South Dakota Reservation; and ended NYU's crack cocaine experiments on monkeys, and Michael Beren¹s brain cancer experiments on Beagle puppies.

Michael was also awarded Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Sound and Best Original Score, plus winner of The Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay, The Silver Spur and The WGA Award. In 2007, the Library of Congress selected the movie for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. Best-selling Author, one of Blake’s more recent books, is his Memoir called TWELVE THE KING, brings to light the reality of Horse Slaughter and the spirit of one wild horse stallion who survived it.

Robbie Little, 1 January 1945 to 5 May 2018. Animal Advocate, and award winning international film producer, ‘godfather’ to the independent film sector, and Co-Founder to the Little Film Company. Academy Award Winner and founding member of the Independent Film and Television Alliance (IFTA).

Steven Long, 1944-2022. Renowned horse advocate, Horseback Magazine Managing Editor. As the chief editor of Horseback Magazine Steve was able to control the tone of the magazine and work on the anti-horse slaughter movement, which resulted in new legislation to stop the slaughter of America’s horses. Steve was also an outspoken advocate for the welfare and protection of America’s wild horses and burros. Prior to Horseback Magazine, Steve was a journalist for MSNBC and Fox, a featured writer at the Houston Chronicle, investigative journalist, award winning author, worked in radio, was a successful musician, and managed and promoted rock bands.
